Threads of Fate

I created this wreath as a tribute to the interconnected worlds of the NieRverse: Drakengard 3, NieR Replicant, NieR:Automata, and NieR Re[in]carnation.

Though shaped like a crescent moon, the wreath takes the form of a complete plant, its roots, leaves, and flowers representing different stages of the world’s history.

Long Story Short

A cycle of destruction and rebirth.

Short Story Long

It all starts with the Flower from Drakengard 3. Its roots twist through a wire mesh, the defenses humanity built to protect itself, yet the Flower spreads beyond them regardless.

Above the Flower are leaves marked with black cracks: echoes of the corrupted souls of the Replicant era. Among them bloom the flowers of Devola and Popola, the witnesses of a failing system. Lunar Tears emerge only from the cracks, they are hope appearing within ruin.

As the leaves rise along the arc of the moon, the cracks gradually fade and rust begins to appear, marking the transition into the distant future of Automata, where androids inherit a world long abandoned by humanity.

From the upper arc of the moon, the Lunar Tears fall toward the earth. Their descent echoes both the arrival of YoRHa to Earth and the return of the protagonists of Re[in]carnation from the moon.

When the falling Lunar Tears reach the ground, they are absorbed by the roots beneath the Flower, completing a cycle of destruction and rebirth.
